Extra: Putting it together
In the previous unit, you learned that “老” means “old”. Put that together with 朋友 and: 老朋友 means old friend! (as in friend you’ve known for many years, not necessarily an old person.)
朋 – meat radical
朋 has the 肉 radical, which means meat.
